5th Station: Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus to carry his Cross

We Adore You, O Christ, and We Praise You!

Because By Your Holy Cross You Have Saved The World.

And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the purple cloak, dressed him in his own clothes, and led him out to crucify him.  They pressed into service a passer-by, Simon, a Cyrenian, who was coming in from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to carry his cross.   They brought him to the place of Golgotha (which is translated Place of the Skull). (Mark 15:20-22)

Pause and reflect on the Scripture

Let Us Pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;  as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.  Amen.
